Carina is an artist, designer, and writer.LONDON/MANILA
As an artist, she is interested in gestural forms, translation, and themes of decolonisation and inhabiting space. She has shown in the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom. 

Most recently, Carina was the Senior Brand Designer for premium swimwear label, Hunza G. Carina was also formerly the Art Director for Esquire Philippines and CNN Life Philippines, and the Design Director of The Manila Review and The Biannual Skinny. She has lectured in Ateneo de Manila University, assisted creative agency and publisher, Visual Editions, and also made candles in Hackney for a London-based brand.

She has written extensively for contemporary artists and held a column in The Philippine Star called “Quiet Company” between 2015 and 2019. She has written on the Internet since 2008 and occasionally writes on her blog, Nothing Spaces, and newsletter, The Second Structure of Feeling. Softly Sometimes is where she ruminates on beauty.

She holds a BFA in Information Design (Ateneo de Manila University) and an MRes in Art: Theory & Philosophy (Central Saint Martins, UAL).

She loves to make food, knit, and watch bad television.
